Dahlias
Like many, I got into the Dahlia craze when I bought my first Erin Benzakein - Floret Farms - book on Dahlias.
Growing up in the 70’s Dahlias were in most family gardens. Sometimes tended for competitive showing but mostly a tuber once planted and left to its own destiny year after year.
Sunflowers
Who doesn’t love sunflowers?!
I planted them with my kids from day one and they also grew them each year as a primary school class project.
They are so easy to grow and will put a smile on anyone’s face from children to seasoned farmers who might plant a crop for the pure joy of it.
